Kome Kome Club - FUNK FUJIYAMA
Kome Kome Club (pronounced "Come Come Club") with their 80s tune about all the stereotypes Gaijin (foreigners) tended to have about Japan, its people and their culture. Sadly, much of these stereotypes still prevail today, at least from those who have not lived in Japan or visited it. Even more unfortunate is that these can sometimes be wrongly assumed by Japanese to still be common stereotypes even amongst those who have visited or lived in Japan, which today with the Internet (for those interested to do their own fact-finding) and greater openness of Japanese culture, is rarely the case. Still this is a catchy tune with a message about racial stereotypes.
