Gestures are becoming an increasingly popular means of interacting with computers. However, it is still relatively costly to deploy robust gesture-recognition sensors in existing mobile platforms. SoundWave is a real-time sensing technique that leverages a speaker and a microphone to robustly sense in-air gestures and motion around a device. It is capable of detecting a variety of gestures, and can directly control existing applications without requiring a user to wear any special sensors.
“Bad Apple!!†is a magical piece of stop-motion animation made from 6,566 still photos of printed bitmaps.
The creator, Nico Nico Douga user “ã†ï½ä¸»,†says he made the video without using photo-editing software. The images were captured with a webcam, and the effects were achieved by changing the camera position and adjusting the focus, brightness, zoom, exposure and gain.
This is a reel of various shots we have filmed over the past six months. We used both the Photron Ultima APX camera as well as the SVSi GigaView camera for these shoots. For more information and lots more videos please visit LucidMovement
Excerpts from the "High-speed Video Magic" DVD, featuring billiards and stupid human tricks (also including balloons, breaking stuff, engineering stuff, toys, fluids and foods in motion, and stupid animal tricks). The DVD contains numerous narrated super-slow-motion video clips filmed with a special high-speed video camera. Sound effects are also included. The DVD is fun and instructional, and appeals to a wide range of audiences: billiards enthusiasts, instructors, and students; physics teachers and students, kids and parents interested in physics, science, and engineering; and anybody interested in the artistic beauty of all sorts of things moving in super slow motion.
