Akiyama [red] in a controversial knock-out win for Misaki that was eventually overturned on grounds that Misaki kicked Akiyama while he was downed (which would have been illegal under the new rules for this special send-off event, imposed by UFC management). IUJ students offered a candlelight evening “Pray for Japan” on April 18. The event will be covered live on Ustream. IUJ students would like to show the world that they are fine here on campus, and united to encourage the healing of Japan and all its people – Japanese and foreign alike. Coverage begins at 18:00 Japan Time, with the main event commencing at 18:30. Ustreaming will continue through the end of the event lasting until 19:15 (approx.). The student body president at IUJ will offer comments, followed by 1 minute of silence for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami of March 11. Student representatives of the 50 nationalities on campus will offer their thoughts and words of encouragement for the people of Japan. The Japanese students at IUJ will conclude the evening with their own thoughts and hopes for their homeland.
