Severn Suzuki's 1992 moving Environmental speech to the UN
Raised in Vancouver and Toronto, Severn Cullis-Suzuki has been camping and hiking all her life. When she was 9 she started the Environmental Children's Organization (ECO), a small group of children committed to learning and teaching other kids about environmental issues. She is the daughter of the famous Environmental Scientist and Geneticist David Suzuki. Here in a video from her address to the UN Earth Summit (1992) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she silences and inspires on the issue of environmental destruction, poverty, wastes of war and the abuse of personal freedoms which she sees as unjust and a perfect example of those in charge not leading by example.
