And on the eighth day, God looked down on his planned paradise and said, "I need a caretaker." So God made a farmer.
God said, "I need somebody willing to get up before dawn, milk cows, work all day in the field, milk cows again, eat supper, then go to town and stay past midnight at a meeting of the school board." So God made a farmer.
God said, "I need somebody willing to sit up all night with a newborn colt and watch it die, then dry his eyes and say,'Maybe next year,' I need somebody who can shape an ax handle from an ash tree, shoe a horse with hunk of car tire, who can make a harness out hay wire, feed sacks and shoe scraps. Who, during planting time and harvest season will finish his 40-hour week by Tuesday noon and then, paining from tractor back, put in another 72 hours." So God made the farmer.
God said, "I need somebody strong enough to clear trees and heave bales, yet gentle enough to yean lambs and wean pigs and tend the pink-comb pullets, who will stop his mower for an hour to splint the leg of a meadowlark."
It had to be somebody who'd plow deep and straight and not cut corners. Somebody to seed, weed, feed, breed, and brake, and disk, and plow, and plant, and tie the fleece and strain the milk, . Somebody who'd bale a family together with the soft, strong bonds of sharing, who would laugh, and then sigh and then reply with smiling eyes when his son says that he wants to spend his life doing what Dad does. "So God made a farmer."
To any Canadian's out there watching this... RELAX!!!!
I am Canadian too and I find this hilarious. Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself :)
Other times, you just wanna cry... what happened at the Stanley Cup finals Vancouver riot on June 15th, 2011 was shameful and put a black mark on Canadians' otherwise good reputation. Why didn't we have this kind of reaction to something important like Bilderberg in Ottawa or NAFTA signing?
This film explores playful uses for the increasingly ubiquitous ‘glowing rectangles’ that inhabit the world.
We use photographic and animation techniques that were developed to draw moving 3-dimensional typography and objects with an iPad. In dark environments, we play movies on the surface of the iPad that extrude 3-d light forms as they move through the exposure. Multiple exposures with slightly different movies make up the stop-frame animation.
John McCain's presidential campaign has released a television ad declaring Barack Obama the world's biggest celebrity and suggesting the Democratic contender is little more than a vapid but widely recognized media concoction. (July 31)[Notes:ANCHOR VOICE] [Notes:clip of ad]The latest ad from the John McCain camp is raising a lot of eyebrows... [Notes:OPENING LINE OF AD] [Notes:McCain campaigning]Pundits say the risk the McCain campaign is taking is acknowledging Barack Obama's fame while trying to portray it as a negative. [Notes:Obama in Lebanon, Missouri] During a campaign stop in Missouri, reporters asked Obama if he has seen the ad.SOT: Sen Barack Obama, (D) Presidential Candidate: I don't pay attention to John McCain's ads although I do notice he doesn't seem to have anything to say very positive about himself. He seems to only be talking about me." [Notes:split screen of candidates campaigning]But hours after the McCain ad was released, the Obama campaign released an ad that accuses McCain of practicing 'the politics of the past.' It was the second ad in 2 days responding to negative ads by McCain. ___ ___, The Associated Press
