Great news, the registration process is going well but:
WE STILL NEED MORE TEAMS!
It’s important to note we’re definitely sticking with the team-based fundraising theme leading up to the event, since it was such a success last year. Don’t forget to pickup your forms, here’s a direct link to forms you can download and print yourself:
We’ve also locked down the date, the event will be:
Saturday, August 19th – 7:00pm-midnight
The first stop will be the Chris Rock Tavern on 48 Albert Street in Moncton, NB.
Sorry for making people wait on the final date, but as they say, good things come to those who wait. We’ve got a fresh shipment of bracelets in, I know they are going like hotcakes so your best bet is to track me down in person or send an email request to: crawl4thecure@hotmail.com
Other good news is that I can confirm is that I was interviewed by CBC Radio One – Moncton about the event, and the full 10-minute discussion should be aired on Information Morning and possibly replayed during Maritime Noon.
Last but not least, let’s keep the fundraising going leading up to the event.
If you want, you can even donate directly via the form attached below (or CBCF Atlantic Chapter’s directly):

Fundraising organizers are realizing that in order to complete the event with a significant amount of raised revenue, it must be run as efficiently and resourcefully as a business. Websites, online payment capability, and electronic payment processing are three key factors that can help overcome many of fundraising’s obstacles. ‘-
Just a quick update on what I've been up to lately in my spare time (well one of the many projects), working on the site for the local (Greater Moncton area) Judo club called "Musa Betsu Kyu". It is run by Sensei Earl O'Blenis who is an excellent Judo instructor that we're fortunate to have...
Here's an explanation of what we have today, followed by a Use-Case for my idea...
TODAY:
1. Person A is a farmer who has worked hard all season and is ready for harvest of their crops. For simplicity's sake, let's call him the "Seller", since the next step will be to sell their produce. For that they...
Here's something not totally tech-related for Canada Day 2012.
I decided to make a short but sweet tribute to my favourite Canadians who are making a difference in people's lives all over the world, every day. My choices ended up in the list either because of something exceptional or newsworthy that they did in this past...
Today something strange happened...
The full list of runners for the Moncton-to-Saint John leg of the maritime Olympic Torch Relay was listed and - for better or worse - my name was on it. Turns out I was chosen to run in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Torch Relay by RBC's Carry the Torch competition.
It's not...
Not bad for a bunch of "University kids" on just another "Pub Crawl".
Well we had many doubters but we managed to prove them wrong with an excellent turnout and even better numbers in the final tally of funds raised. I still remember the first year we put this thing together in 2003, only 42 people...

It's not an uncommon sight: a university student stumbling from bar to bar on a pub crawl.
But here's the twist: on Saturday,...
Looks like I'm off to quite a start, as I haven't really blogged much of anything since the first post. Well, its time to really put the "smashing" into it as advertised, by getting smashed for charity...
That's right, it's time for the 4th Annual Atlantic University Students in support of Breast Cancer Research all night...
BC$ = Behavior, Content, Money
The goal of the BC$ project is to raise awareness and make changes with respect to the three pillars of information freedom - Behavior (pursuit of interests and passions), Content (sharing/exchanging ideas in various formats), Money (fairness and accessibility) - bringing to light the fact that:
1. We regularly hand over our browser histories, search histories and daily online activities to companies that want our money, or, to benefit from our use of their services with lucrative ad deals or sales of personal information.
2. We create and/or consume interesting content on their services, but we aren't adequately rewarded for our creative efforts or loyalty.
3. We pay money to be connected online (and possibly also over mobile), yet we lose both time and money by allowing companies to market to us with unsolicited advertisements, irrelevant product offers and unfairly structured service pricing plans.
Fundraising organizers are realizing that in order to complete the event with a significant amount of raised revenue, it must be run as efficiently and resourcefully as a business. Websites, online payment capability, and electronic payment processing are three key factors that can help overcome many of fundraising’s obstacles. ‘-
Good luck and see ya later
